The Fort Dodge girls swim team brought home six gold medals in a dual in the Dodger pool on Tuesday night.
In its 2026 home debut, FDSH lost to Des Moines Lincoln by a final score of 100-75.
"We saw some areas we need to improve and fix a little," said FDSH head coach Ashley Beaumont. "We will face them (Des Moines Lincoln) again at the conference meet.
"We did some good things in relays, as well as in individual events."
Fort Dodge came away with two relay championships to go along with four individual crowns. Manson Northwest Webster students Kylen Lubensky and Karlee Pearson were a part of four victories on the night.
Lubensky swam the first leg of the 200 medley relay – followed by Pearson, Clara Brown, and Makayla Knox – in a time of 2:07.02. She was also the first leg of the gold medal 200 freestyle relay with Brown, Knox and Pearson in 1:53.98.
"We’ve been playing with our relays and switching them up," Beaumont said. "We're trying to see who is best suited for the races, and what will benefit us best by the end of the season.
"We have some very good upperclassmen that mix well with the younger swimmers."
As an individual, Lubensky swept the 50 freestyle (27.23) and the 100 freestyle (59.63).
"She (Lubensky) has done an awesome job after taking a year off and coming back," Beaumont said. "She looked really good and performed well."
Pearson was the 100 butterfly champ (1:09.17) and the 100 breaststroke winner (1:16.07).
"Karlee just goes out and wins races," Beaumont said. "The 100 fly is not her favorite stroke, but she will always compete at a high level for us and do her best."
Knox earned a runner-up showing in the 200 freestyle (2:23.28). The quartet Breanna Kalvig, Iris McAtee, Adelyn Meyer, and Embree Meyer took third in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:28.55.
Teaming up for a third-place showing in the 500 freestyle relay was the quartet of Annika Weisberg, Amelia Lincoln, Adrian Bohlmann and Teagan Loots (4:53.96).
Bohlmann was third in the 50 freestyle (31.59) and the 500 freestyle (7:00.91). Knox was third in the 100 freestyle (1:06.40).
The Dodgers are back in the pool on Thursday when they host Algona and Sioux City West.
