The Fort Dodge girls tennis team scored a dominant 11-0 victory over Des Moines North/East here Thursday evening.
Evah Nostrom, Teagan Loots, Brooklyn Kaloupek, Leah Myer, Paisley Smith and Charlotte Breeser were all winners in singles for the Dodgers. All six won in straight sets.
Myer didn’t drop a game. Loots, Smith and Breeser lost just one each.
In doubles, Mia Carpenter and Evie Piton, Izzy Lara and Lilly Hruska, Sydney Loots and Onika Acosta, Daphne Groff and Ja'Nique Price, and Grace Rivera and Calliegh Zimmermann all earned straight-set victories. Loots and Acosta did not drop a game. Groff and Price lost just one.
"This was an opportunity to play a lot of girls," FDSH head coach Julie Astor said. "Charlotte looked strong in her first varsity singles match. She is a newcomer to tennis and has caught on quickly.
"Sydney Loots and Onika Acosta looked like veterans in their first doubles debut, and Lilly Hruska saw her first varsity match and played well."
Fort Dodge will host Southeast Polk on Monday for Senior Night.
