POCAHONTAS – The Emmetsburg football team got by Pocahontas Area here Thursday night, 22-14.
Joe Fischer, Brennan Hasbrouck and Beckam Shirk each had a rushing touchdown for the E-Hawks (2-2 overall). Fischer led the way with 138 yards on 22 carries, as Hasbrouck added 71 and Shirk 54.
As a team, Emmetsburg rushed the ball 51 times for 287 yards.
Vince Nelson had a sack on defense, as Gage Ditch recorded 7.5 tackles for the E-Hawks. Fischer also picked off two passes, with Hasbrouck and Isaiah Helle each recording an interception.
Coen Hammen was 14 of 30 passing for 217 yards and two touchdowns for the Indians (2-2). Xander Small and Gabe Halligan each caught a touchdown. Small had five receptions for 80 yards and Halligan three for 70.
Karson Welander caught seven passes for 98 yards and had 57 yards rushing.
On defense, Welander had a sack and seven tackles, with Adam Marsh recording 11 stops. Small picked off a pass.
