Boys run at Algona

ALGONA – The Fort Dodge boys cross country team had two runners place in the Top-30 here Monday at the Algona Invitational.
Jayce Point finished 15th and Jones Hensley was 26th to lead the way for the Dodgers, as Mason City's Henry Hansen earned the race title.
Sioux Center claimed team honors, followed by Mason City, Spirit Lake, Clear Lake and Iowa Falls-Alden. The Dodgers were seventh overall, as the host Bulldogs placed ninth. Webster City was 10th, Emmetsburg 13th, Humboldt 15th and St. Edmond 16th.
Point clocked a time of 17:44, with Hensley finishing in 18:12. Corban McHone was 38th, Cael Hansen 39th, Grant Maxson 51st and Landon Wayner 86th.
"I thought we ran pretty well," FDSH head coach Austin Read said. "Cael didn't have his best stuff, but it showed the importance of having depth. Many of them had times close to PRs on a wet, sloppy course.
"I'm really excited about our effort level and seeing what we can do over these next several days in training."
Aidan Reel was the lead runner for the Gaels, as the senior placed 57th in 19:18. Gordon Seeden was 82nd, Erik Larson 85th, Ethan Cibert 109th, Abram Ribbens 110th, Cooper Cokeley 113th and Dylan Brokaw 115th.
"Aidan and Abram I thought ran well," SEHS head coach Mike Szalat said. "Abram closed his game and Gordon did a nice job running with Erik. I just wish our times were better."
For Algona, Brooks Morgan finished 23rd, Axton Hood was 29th, Landon Becker 30th, Grandon Dahlhauser 43rd and Caden Harms 83rd. Webster City's top finish came from Daniel Murillo-Delfin, as he was 21st overall. Max Barrick placed 47th, Aidan Wardell was 64th, Kaleb Draeger 72nd and Jordan Betts 78th.
Ben Cox cracked the Top-20 for Emmetsburg, as the sophomore was 19th. Elijah Cox followed in 59th, as Miles Rouse was 93rd, Asher Woodford 112th and Danny Itza-Nelson 114th.
Henry Kramer finished 28th for Humboldt, with Ike Fowler 95th, Bentley Rodgers 96th, Miles Zeman 99th and Ayden Russell 103rd.
In junior varsity action, Greyson Chance was 31st for the Dodgers, as Myles Summers placed 37th, Muhammad Mudsar was 41st, Morris Carson 49th, Elijah Lawrence 66th, Austin Carmody 93rd, Korbin Jones 95th, Jonathan Casciato 127th, Elias Powers 137th, Jayden Walker 156th, Deven Tyre 166th and Kameryn Norris 168th.
For the Gaels, Ashton Kuker was 129th, Owen Rutherford 131st, William Gubbels 132nd, Vincent Pearson 165th and Davin Darling 173rd.
Up next will be the Fort Dodge Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 8.
