Another volleyball victory for Tritons

The No. 4 Iowa Central volleyball team made quick work of another ICCAC rival here Thursday inside Hodges Fieldhouse, sweeping North Iowa Area Community College.
Scores were 25-10, 25-17, 23-25 and 25-14.
The Tritons (13-1 overall, 4-0 in the league) have earned conference victories over Ellsworth, Northwest Iowa, Hawkeye and now the Trojans already this season. NIACC (4-9, 0-4) was the first ICCAC opponent to win a set vs. Iowa Central.
Cooper Griffin continued her strong sophomore season, recording 23 kills, as Kampbell Bryte added 13 with seven digs and four serving aces. Meah McCaleb, a Fort Dodge Senior High graduate and sophomore co-captain, had 19 digs and two assists.
"Our girls did a great job of coming out strong in the first set," ICCC head coach Sara Horn said. "They were really consistent and put a lot of pressure on NIACC with tough serving and great defense."
Annie Elbert recorded 36 assists, 14 digs, three kills and a solo block. Abby Jensen, Kalyn Mills and Devon Rodewald combined for 48 digs, and Grace Farnsworth had six kills.
Meya Wingert had seven assists and Jensen five, with Rylyn McCarty adding five kills and Madison Rogers four.
"Kalyn had a great match for us with 18 digs and great passing," Horn said. "Meah and Abby also chipped in 19 and 20 digs as well.
"I thought NIACC really kept their effort and energy high all night long. They outplayed us in set three, but I thought we worked hard to regain the momentum in set four."
The Tritons are 25-2 over their last 27 ICCAC matches, winning 17 in a row.
After playing two games in three days and six over the past week, Iowa Central will be off until Wednesday. The Tritons host Southeastern at 6 p.m.
