WEST DES MOINES – Andrew Huseman carded a one-under par 70 and advanced to the United States Mid-Amateur Championships in a qualifier this week at the Glen Oaks Country Club.
Huseman, the son of Fort Dodge businessman Bill Huseman and grandson of Hall of Fame Dodger coach and athletic director Dutch Huseman, finished behind only Jamie Faidley (68). He tied for the runner-up spot with fellow qualifier Dusty Drenth, as well as Luke Slaymaker and Ross Martens.
Huseman, a former Ankeny Centennial, Indian Hills and Arkansas State standout who now lives in Ankeny, had four birdies and three bogeys in his round. Nine players finished within one stroke of the qualifying position.
Huseman is a three-time Fort Dodge Amateur champion. He was the tournament’s runner-up this summer.
The 2026 U.S. Mid-Am is in Nekoosa, Wis. from Sept. 26 through Oct. 1.
