Dodgers girls no match for Boone

By The Messenger Sports staff 1 min read

The Fort Dodge girls tennis team ran into a buzzsaw here Thursday, falling to Boone by a final of 11-0.

In singles, Teagan Loots won four games at the No. 4 spot vs. Olivia Colin, as the doubles team of Charlotte Breeser and Daphne Groff claimed six games over two sets at No. 6.

"This might be the strongest Boone team I have seen," FDSH head coach Julie Astor said. "They are just solid from the top of their lineup through. I always tell teams I have coached that they can learn from the opposition.

"We definitely did learn a few things and they witnessed some of the little details I have been preaching for a while now. Hopefully, they can put some of that in their memory and use it going forward."

Fort Dodge will head to Norwalk on Friday for a triangular with the Warriors and Urbandale. Norwalk is coached by former Dodger Kristen (Hale) Geisler.
