Area players flood all-district squads

Five Fort Dodge and two St. Edmond softball players were recently named all-district by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association for 2026.
Teryn Rippentrop, Hope Alstott, Ellie Doster, Aubrey Alstott and Macy Wills each made the Class 4A Northwest squad, and Dodger head coach Andi Adams was tabbed the district coach of the year.
For the Gaels, Faith Shirbroun and Toryn Helle were each placed on the 1A Northwest team.
Doster ranked first in all of 4A in hits and doubles, tied for first in RBI, was second in batting average, third in on-base and slugging percentages, and fourth in home runs. She hit .590 with 76 RBI, 13 homers, 21 doubles and two triples.
Hope Alstott was first in triples and second in runs scored. She batted .452 with 69 runs, 57 hits, three home runs, 17 doubles, 10 triples and 27 stolen bases.
Aubrey Alstott led all 4A pitchers in appearances, was second in wins and starts, and had a fifth-best WHIP (fewest walks and hits allowed per inning pitched). On the year, Alstott won 24 games, striking out 102 batters with an earned run average of just over two.
Rippentrop, a senior, was third in hits for 4A. She batted .473 with 59 runs, five doubles, two triples, 38 RBI and 25 steals.
Wills, a freshman, played in all 47 games, recording 54 runs scored and 60 hits, including four home runs, 10 doubles and two triples. She drove in 45, hitting .500 with nine steals.
Fort Dodge graduates just Rippentrop, as Hope Alstott and Doster will be seniors next summer, with Aubrey Alstott a junior and Wills a sophomore. The Dodgers were third in Class 4A at state with an overall record of 41-6.
Shirbroun finished first in 1A in runs scored, total bases, hits and doubles, second in batting average, on-base and slugging percentages, while tying for second in triples, and ranking fourth in home runs and RBI. The Keiser University of Florida signee hit .632 in 2026 with 63 runs scored, 52 RBI, 11 homers, 21 doubles, seven triples and 40 stolen bases.
Helle earned 22 wins inside the circle, striking out 119 batters with a 2.94 earned run average in just over 157 innings pitched.
St. Edmond will lose Shirbroun to graduation. Helle will be a junior.
Area all-district selections include Ellie Sievers and Jocee Walsh of Newell-Fonda; Brylie Deim, Olivia Price and Ainsley Ulrich from North Union; Miranda Gerdes of East Sac County; Lauren Hoover and Katie Rierson from Pocahontas Area; Rian Schlief of Southeast Valley; and Allison Trunkhill and Reagan Haynes from Algona.
