Seven members of the St. Edmond softball team were named to the all-North Central Conference teams, the league announced.

Lone senior Faith Shirbroun was one of three unanimous choices for the first team for the Gaels, who finished third behind co-champions Algona and Clear Lake.

Rihanna Myers joined her on the first-team, as Toryn Helle, Ella Vandi, Sophia Schlienz and Breckyn Ulrich each made the second. Jade Rock was named to the third-team.

"I am incredibly proud of all the girls who were honored," SEHS head coach Bill Shirbroun said. "I feel like our body of work was deserving of the honors that we received. These girls have put in a lot of time and it's great they were recognized."

Algona's Allison Trunkhill, Reagan Haynes and Maya Lentz each made the first-team, as did Humboldt's Gracie Lyons and Claire Dieleman.

Shirbroun, who set nearly every career Gael hitting record, batted .550 with 22 runs scored, 20 RBI, six doubles, four homers and two triples in league games. She also stole 11 bases.

Myers hit .486, scoring 23 times and driving in 17 while recording four homers, four doubles, a triple and 19 steals.

"Faith has been a constant in the NCC since her eighth-grade season," Shirbroun said. "She has been a key hitter and fielder for us. Rihanna stepped right in and took over at shortstop, which is a tough position -- especially replacing someone like (her sister) Mariah (Myers). She has done an incredible job."

Helle went 8-2 over 11 starts, striking out 48 with an earned run average under four. Vandi had a .457 average, scoring 22 times with 13 RBI, seven doubles, four triples and 25 steals.

Schlienz recorded 12 hits including a double and a triple, scoring 18 times, stealing 13 bases and driving in seven, as Ulrich had seven hits, eight runs scored and eight RBI. Rock finished with a .357 average, driving in 11 and scoring 14 times with 12 steals.

"Toryn is so valuable for us inside the circle," Shirbroun said. "When she is out there, we feel like we can compete with anybody. Ella really came on over the second half of the season, Sophia has been a steady player for us, Breckyn gave us key at-bats and played great at first, and Jade had a really strong year as a full-time starter for the first time."

Algona had Emma Spear and Jillian Burns on the second, with Makenna Elsbecker making the third. Adalee Nolting and Sadie Hubbell were second team selections for Humboldt, with Hayden Graaf on the third.

Webster CIty's Morgan Hackbarth was a second team selection and Amanda Lahr made the third. Kinlee Nail represented Clarion-Goldfield/Dows as a third team pick.

Haynes led all players in batting average and hits in conference games only, with Trunkhill recording the lowest earned run average and pitching wins. Vandi was first in steals, triples and tied for first in doubles with Graaf, as Shirbroun had the best slugging percentage and Myers tied for the lead in walks.
