Gaels ready for districts

The road to the state baseball tournament will begin here Friday night at home for St. Edmond.

Freshman Blake Bartlett is batting a team-best .417 with four home runs, six doubles, 22 RBI and 14 runs scored. Senior Grant Galles sports a .366 average, driving in 21 and scoring 26 times, while sophomore Coltin Fevold is hitting .359 with 23 RBI and eight extra-base hits.

Glidden-Ralston finished fourth in the Rolling Valley Conference — a league that includes top-ranked Coon Rapids-Bayard and Woodbine. The Wildcats are led by Landon Rohrbeck at the plate, as the senior is hitting .382 with four triples, 14 runs scored, 14 stolen bases and eight RBI.

Junior Greyson Renze and eighth-grader Landon Whitaker each have nine RBI. Jackson Whitaker, a junior, has 43 strikeouts and three victories on the mound.

The district final is scheduled for Saturday, July 11.
