Ten Fort Dodge baseball players picked up honors from the Iowa Alliance Conference North Division, led by first team selections Bo Marsh, Tru McBride, Kolton Schiltz and Tanner Peterson.

McBride and Peterson were two of eight players named unanimous by the league coaches.

Mason Frevert, Jaxson Dencklau, Davis Underberg and Will McElroy each made the second team for the Dodgers, with Cael Adams and Hayden Porter receiving honorable mention status.

Mason City won the regular season league title by a game over Fort Dodge. The Dodgers finished with 32 wins, going 13-3 in the conference.

McBride had a .478 average in league games, recording three home runs, six doubles and two triples. He scored 20 runs and drove in 18 more, working 10 walks.

"When you compare his sophomore season to his junior year, the numbers just jump at you," FDSH head coach Blake Utley said. "It was really quite remarkable, and the other coaches all noticed and agreed that he was deserving of being (a) unanimous (selection)."

Peterson posted a 3-1 record over four starts on the mound in IAC North action, striking out 29 while maintaining an earned run average under two, as opponents hit just .178 off him. The junior also carried a .304 average in league games, driving in 12 and scoring 14 times.

"Tanner was another easy choice for unanimous (recognition)," Utley said. "The Mason City coach even spoke up, saying that he felt like Tanner was a thorn in his butt for 85 games and he's only a junior, so when other coaches say stuff like that, you can't help but be proud."

Marsh had a .455 average, recording 14 RBI, seven doubles and a .968 fielding percentage in IAC action. Schiltz hit .415 with six home runs, 24 runs scored and 20 driven in, working 11 walks with eight times being hit by a pitch in 16 contests.

"Getting four on the first team was really big," Utley said. "I feel like Bo is the best catcher in our league, becoming our No. 4 hitter because he was so consistent while also handling the defense.

"We expected big numbers from Kolton coming into the season and he delivered. He spends a lot of time working on his craft and is an incredible player who is being rewarded for what he's put into the game."

Frevert went 2-1 on the mound, striking out 16 over 13-plus innings. Dencklau had eight strikeouts in 11 innings pitched, hitting .304 with 17 runs and nine RBI.

Underberg batted .341 with 15 RBI and a 2-0 record on the mound. McElroy went 2-0 with 10 strikeouts, also hitting .372 with three homers, three doubles, 14 runs scored and 14 RBI.

Adams had seven strikeouts in six innings, allowing just three hits and no runs. Porter had 12 runs and five RBI in just 10 games.

"Mason was a magician out there on the mound," Utley said. "Davis had an outstanding season at the plate. Will's numbers took a big jump from a year ago. Jaxson was Mr. Reliable for us.

"Cael (a sophomore) and Hayden (a freshman) both have really bright futures."

The Dodgers graduate just two seniors in Dencklau and Caiden Fraher from a team that tied for the most regular-season wins in school history.

Schiltz led the IAC North in homers and times being hit by a pitch, was second in both on-base percentage and slugging percentage, and third in runs scored. McBride was second in batting average, tied for first in triples, third in slugging and fourth in both on-base and runs.

Peterson was tied for first in innings pitched, as Marsh was first in sacrifice flys and fourth in batting average and doubles.
