More winners emerged in the heat at Sports Park Raceway for the Hobby Stock Special on Sunday.
With temperatures in the mid-90s and heat indices soaring above 110, Carson Hayes of Guthrie Center was the IMCA Sport Compacts A feature winner over Drew Stanek of Buckingham. The 4.6 Crown Vics champ was Fort Dodge's Nick Sawdy, with fellow Fort Dodger Nate Hogan taking second place.
Brent McClendon of Ames took the Vintage Cars A feature event, with Geneva's Rex Jansonius crossing in the runner-up position. The IMCA Mod Lite A feature went to Port St. Lucie of Florida's Dylan Permann, with Robert Moore of Maxwell in second.
Jade Lange of Humboldt was the IMCA Hobby Stocks A feature champ, ahead of Fort Dodge's Bryce Sommerfeld. The IMCA Sport Mods A feature competition was taken by Humboldt's Kamdyn Haggard over Alex Bailey of Schaller.
The IMCA Stock Cars event went to Ryan Roath of Kamrar. Blairsburg's Scott Olson finished second.
The current season-long points leaders are Will Smith (IMCA Hobby Stocks), Rece Hayes (IMCA Sport Compacts), Haggard (IMCA Sport Mods), Roath (IMCA Stock Cars), Chaz Baca (IMCA Modifieds), Rex Jansonius (Vintage Cars), Josh May (IMCA Mod Lite), Hogan (Crown Vics), Josh May (IMCA Mod Lites) and Dino Rodish (Super Stock Vintage Cars).
Kids Night is up next this Sunday evening, sponsored by Kemna Auto. Kids activities, giveaways, race-car rides and more are being offered, as well as competition in all divisions.
