Another busy week at Sports Park Raceway

The Sport Mod Special crowned champions in seven different divisions on Sunday at Sports Park Raceway.

Nearly 90 drivers were in action as the season race to the championship continued on the track just south and west of Fort Dodge.

Nick Hogan of Fort Dodge was the feature winner in the 4.6 Crown Vics race. Fellow Fort Dodge resident Nick Sawdy took second.

Jade Lange of Humboldt captured the feature event in the IMCA Hobby Stocks competition. Boone’s Macon Robinson crossed in the runner-up position.

The IMCA Stock Cars feature race went to Scott Olson of Blairsburg over Otho’s Brandon Toftee.

Trevor Fitz of Camarillo, Calif. topped Arion’s Jeff Stephens for the IMCA Modifieds crown.

Britt’s Charles Prime bested Stuart’s Tyler Fiebelkorn in the IMCA Sport Compacts feature race.

Todd Jansonius of Carroll won the Vintage Cars feature event, with Brent McClendon of Ames taking second.

The IMCA Sport Mods feature competition went to Cam Reimers of Kelley over Mat Hollerich of Good Thunder, Minn.

The current overall point leaders in each division include Hogan (4.6 Crown Vics); Will Smith of Lake City (Hobby Stocks); Jewell’s Chaz Baca (Modifieds); Rece Hayes of Guthrie Center (Sport Compacts); Humboldt’s Kamdyn Haggard (Sport Mods); Ryan Roath of Kamrar (Stock Cars); Geneva’s Rex Jansonius (Vintage Cars); Josh May of Des Moines (Mod Lites); and Dino Rodish of West Des Moines (Super Stock Vintage Cars).

Next action at Sports Park Raceway will be Sunday, July 26, as the Pickett Salvage Hobby Stock Special hits the track with all divisions.
