The St. Edmond softball team moved up two spots in the latest rankings, climbing from fifth to third in Class 1A.

The Gaels picked up a signature win over No. 9 (5A) Pleasant Valley this past weekend at the Jack North Tournament hosted by Waukee Northwest. Defending 1A champion Clarksville is still No. 1 followed by Exira-EHK.

Fort Dodge, third place finishers at its own invitational, remained third in 4A behind ADM and Carlisle.

Grand View Christian jumped from fifth to first in 2A, overtaking Louisa-Muscatine for the top spot. Pocahontas Area moved into the 2A Top-15 at No. 15.

In 3A, Algona is ranked 11th, while Newell-Fonda moved up from seventh to sixth in 1A.

Waukee Northwest remained No. 1 in 5A, as did Williamsburg in 3A.

Fort Dodge is in the Linn-Mar/Alburnett tourney this weekend while the Gaels host their own tourney.
