Newell-Fonda claims relay medal in 1A

Newell-Fonda’s Mareni Brabec, Elliot Hamilton, Rylee Hogrefe and Quinn Sievers captured a medal in the 4×800, placing seventh in Class 1A.

The quartet clocked a time of 10:01.43, which was their best for the season.

Kennady Hoberman, Paige Erickson, Hogrefe and Ava Vie were 18th in the shuttle hurdle prelims.

Sophomores Madelyn Tigges and Julia Swift each finished 12th in individual events for Bishop Garrigan. Tigges was 12th in the 400, clocking a time of 59.71, as Swift went 10:54.27 in the 3,000 to place 12th.

Avery Culbertson, a freshman, was 16th in the shot put with a best of 34-5.5.

The 4×800 relay of Carter Cink, Carter McGregor, Brad Meister and CJ McGregor went 8;35.24 to finish 17th.

In prelim races, Cate Birkey was 14th in the 100 and Tigges 19th in the 200.

West Bend-Mallard’s Maddie Fehr was 24th in the long jump with a best of 14-8.75. North Union’s shuttle hurdle relay of Greyson Colegrove, Carson Crouch, Casey Rezac and Max Heinen placed 21st in the prelims.
