CONRAD — Ty Mericle earned a spot at a Class 1A district golf meet, advancing out of sectionals here Wednesday.

Mericle was the only golfer from St. Edmond to qualify, as he will now compete for a spot at the state tournament on his home course on Monday.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck, BCLUW and AGWSR earned the team bids from Conrad Golf Course, as the Gaels finished fourth overall, eight strokes behind AGWSR.

Newell-Fonda, North Union and Bishop Garrigan each advanced through sectionals as teams in 1A. In 2A, Emmetsburg and South Central Calhoun are both moving on while Humboldt qualified for districts as a team.

Coyce Bertran from Webster City earned an individual spot at districts.
