Foy, Porter win for 7th grade Dodgers

Branden Foy and Brantley Porter each won events for the Fort Dodge seventh-grade boys track and field team here Thursday night at the Dodger Relays.

Ames won the team title, as Humboldt was second. Dallas Center-Grimes, Fort Dodge, Webster City, Marshalltown, Iowa Falls-Alden and St. Edmond completed the standings.

Foy was first in the high jump, clearing 4-10, as Porter won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.30. Porter was also the runner-up in the long jump with a best of 15-4.5.

Xander Hauswirth placed second in both the discus and shot put for Fort Dodge, throwing 86-7 in the discus and 31-6 in the shot put.

Grayson Hoshaw earned silver in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:02.10, as the 4×100-meter relay of Braylon Rock, Foy, Kortlyn Caston and Porter also placed second in 54.64.

Fort Dodge was third in the 4×800, shuttle hurdle, distance medley and 4×200 relays. Simon DeJong, Brody Balm, Eliot Naeve and Brecken Kokenge ran the 4×800; Myles Mason, Lane Pritchard, Tucker Reeves and Mack Moser the shuttle hurdle; Mason, Hudson Dutcher, Parker Rial and Kokenge the distance medley; and Foy, Caston, Rock and Porter the 4×200.

Oliver Gruver for St. Edmond has the lone Top-3 finish, placing third in the 400-meter run.
