FD earns win on Senior Night

The Fort Dodge boys tennis team honored their graduates on Senior Night.

Fort Dodge beat Des Moines Lincoln 6-5 in a tight dual at Dodger Courts.

The Dodgers won three matches on the singles side as well as three doubles competitions.

Winning in singles was Corban McHone, Aidan Recker and Easton Minkoff.

Picking up wins in doubles were Recker and Jaxton Jones. Jaxon Price and Jake Pingel won as well as Josh Beekman and Sawyer Evans.

“We had a few matches that went to the third set,” said Fort Dodge head coach Scott Messerly. “We lost the third set, but overall it was a good night.”

Fort Dodge honored their six seniors, Recker, Price, Jones, Drew Essman, Carlos Cervantes and Sam Salvatore before the meet.

The Dodgers are back in action on Tuesday at Dodger Courts in a triangular. Fort Dodge will face Nevada at noon. Boone will play Nevada at 2:30 p.m. and the Dodgers and Boone play at 5 p.m.
