Dodgers win at the net
The Fort Dodge boys tennis team split with Des Moines North and Sioux City North here Thursday evening.
The Dodgers posted a 9-2 victory over the Polar Bears and lost to the Stars, 11-0.
Claiming singles wins for Fort Dodge were Aidan Recker, Jaxon Jones, Easton Minkoff and Kyron McCrady.
“I thought the boys did a nice job in both duals,” FDSH head coach Scott Messerly said. “It was nice to get the win vs. Des Moines North, but we also played well against Sioux City North. They are a very good, very experienced team.”
In doubles, Corban McHone and Recker, Minkoff and McCrady, Carson Huffman and Sawyer Evans, and Jayden Stanley and Jake Pingel were all winners.
“We had a nice showing in doubles against North,” Messerly said. “It was important that those guys play well together to give us some options for the postseason.”
Fort Dodge returns to the courts on Tuesday when they host Clear Lake.
