Dodger boys host Lions

The Fort Dodge boys tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Clear Lake here Thursday afternoon.

Corban McHone, Aidan Recker and Jaxton Jones each picked up wins in singles for the Dodgers, who dropped two doubles matches in super tiebreaker sets to the Lions, who were North Central Conference Tournament runners-up on Wednesday.

“I thought that the kids did a really nice job of battling for each point,” FDSH head coach Scott Messerly said. “We were right there in a couple of those doubles matches, and could have won them if a point or two went our way.

“Corban, Aidan and Jaxton each put together strong performances in singles to get wins. I liked the way they all three played.”

In junior varsity action, Sawyer Evans and Jayden Stanley earned singles wins, as did the doubles teams of Evans and Tate Hodges, and Jonathan Casciato and Elijah Mananquil. Casciato also teamed up for a win with Eli Johnson.

Fort Dodge remains at home for the next three regular season duals, hosting Des Moines Lincoln on Monday before finishing things up with a double-dual vs. Nevada and Boone on Tuesday.

Starting at $4.94/week.
