St. Edmond boys win on the links
The St. Edmond boys golf team picked up a dual victory over Southeast Valley here Tuesday at Lakeside Golf Course.
The Gaels shot a 176, besting the Jaguars by 14 strokes.
“It was good to come out and post a nice score on a perfect day,” SEHS head coach Matt Dillon said. “There was some wind to adjust to, but the kids did a great job.”
Jack McElroy was medalist, as the senior fired a 38. Junior Ty Mericle followed with a 41, as Maxxus Laufersweiler added a 48.
Carson Bargfrede (49), Hunter Horn (51) and Kinnick Henning (54) rounded out the scoring.
Southeast Valley’s Dawson Tuel had a 45 to pace the Jaguars.
St. Edmond also won the junior varsity match, 194-215, behind a 42 from Grififn Laufersweiler. Jackson Calvert had a 47 and Owen Rutherford a 51.
The Gaels head to the Ram Invitational in Jefferson from The Hill Golf Course on Saturday.
