Southeast Valley girls a runner-up at home

GOWRIE — The Southeast Valley girls track team came away with four championships at their home co-ed meet on Monday night.

Ogden (136) was the girls winner, while the Jaguars (112) were second. Newell-Fonda (109) placed third and South Central Calhoun (102) was fourth.

Sage Lane was the lone individual gold medalist for SV, capturing the 400 hurdle title in 1:15.11. The Jaguars also won the 4×800 (11:55.50), 4×200 (1:56.34) and the 4×100 (52-31).

Southeast Valley was second in the sprint medley (2:03.83).

Avrie Hanson had two runner-up showings: in the 100-meter dash (13.89) and the 200 (28.04).

Mya Ridgely was a double winner for South Central Calhoun, capturing titles in the 100 (13.54) and 200 (27.75).

SCC’s Tristin Gorden was the discus champ, (133-03) and a runner-up in the shot put (32-01.75). Iris Melody finished second in the 3000 with a time of 12:29.56.

Newell-Fonda was crowned champion in four events.

Mareni Brabec was a distance double winner. Brabec took the 3000 (11:53.60) and the 1500 (5:21.97).

Ellie Sievers prevailed in the long jump (15-06.00)

The Mustangs captured the title in the distance medley (4:47.19) and the 4×400 (4:29.29).

Paige Erickson was second in the 400-meter hurdles for N-F (1:17.46), and Danika Meyer was the 1500 runner-up (5:45.68).
