Schlegel claims gold for Gaels
CLARION — The St. Edmond girls track and field team scored eight Top-4 finishes here Tuesday night at the Cowgirl Relays hosted by Clarion-Goldfield/Dows.
Grace Schlegel led the way for the Gaels with two of those top finishes, as she won the 3,000 and was the runner-up in the 1,500.
Schlegel had a winning time of 12:14 in the 3,000.
“Very happy with how the girls performed,” SEHS head coach CJ Tracy said. “We were able to obtain some PRs in a few races, and we also tried some girls out in new races, as well.
“There are many positives we can take out of this meet moving forward.”
Rihanna Myers was third in the shot put, as was Brianna Saathoff in the 100-meter dash. The distance medley and 4×200 relays both finished third for St. Edmond.
McKenna Kvale, Breckyn Ulrich, Alex Leiting and Naomi Valles comprised the distance medley, with Ella Vandi, Ava Bradley, Ulrich and Saathoff running the 4×200.
Bradley was fourth in the 100 and the 4×400 of Leiting, Valles, Adelyn Bangert and Lily Eslick also finished fourth.

St. Edmond heads to Manson on Thursday for the Emily Markert Relays.
