MANSON — The strong spring for the Southeast Valley boys track and field team continued here Thursday at the Emily Markert Relays.

Behind a plethora of Top-5 finishes, the Jaguars claimed their third meet title of the season.

Southeast Valley was followed by host Manson Northwest Webster, Greene County, MVAOCOU and Cherokee to round out the Top-5.

Kayden Showers was an individual double-winner for the Jaguars, as he picked up gold in both the 100 (11.02) and the 200 (22.36). Alex Burger, meanwhile, was part of three victories, winning the 400 hurdles (54.21) and running on the first place shuttle hurdle and distance medley relays.

Joining Burger on the winning shuttle hurdle relay in a time of 59.45 was Casey Hanson, Kolton Ollinger and Colin Johnson, as Ollinger, Bryce Harrison and Owen Nuss comprised the distance medley. That quartet finished in 3:46.69.

Johnson won the 110 hurdles in 14.78 and was second in the 400 hurdles to Burger. Ollinger added a second in the 110 hurdles, Lincoln Akins was second in the 3,200, Logan Jaeschke finished third in the 100, Colden Mapel was third in the high jump and Ethan Martin third in the long jump.

The 4×800 relay of Landon Vote, Kasen Loeffler, Drew Dorsey and Logan Bintz placed second.

St. Edmond was led by Anthony Valles, as the senior raced to a runner-up finish in the 1,600 in 4:46.90. He was also fifth in the 800 (2:09).

Aaron Hindt placed third in the 200, as did the sprint medley and distance medley relays for the Gaels. Gordon Seeden, Valles, Jack McElroy and Hindt ran the sprint medley in 1:43 while the same quartet went 3:54 in the distance medley.

“We had Jonah Mosier, Aidan Reel and Gordon Seeden each set split PRs in two events,” SEHS head coach Mike Szalat said. “Aaron had a PR in the open 200. Our handoffs in all of our relays were much better than previous meets after working on them quite a bit in practice.

“Anthony competed his tail off in his three races and is really buying into running efficiently and intelligently. Erik Larson continues to do that just as he’s done throughout his career.”

Cole Judisch added two more medals to his collection for the Cougars, as he won the 400 in 50.49 and placed second in the 200. Wyatt Lahr won the high jump, clearing 5-10.

Jack Hoeppner placed second in the 800 and third in the 400 for MNW, as Mason Anderson was third in the high jump. Manson Northwest Webster also placed third in the 4×800.

Riley Aragon led East Sac County, earning two firsts and a third. Aragon won the 1,600 (4:42.50) and the 3,200 (10:51.31) while placing third in the 800. Landon Sporrer (3,200) and Xander Hemer (400 hurdles) each finished third.

Pocahontas Area’s Adam Marsh won bronze in the discus, with the 4×100 also placing third.
