Wildcats third at indoor meet

HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt girls finished third at a home indoor track and field meet, as Sioux Central placed first overall.

Forest City was second followed by the Wildcats, with Algona fifth. Pocahontas Area was sixth, Manson Northwest Webster seventh, Southeast Valley eighth and Bishop Garrigan ninth.

Aubry Fisher placed second in the 1,500 and Callie Olsen was the high jump runner-up for Humboldt, as Avery Fisher finished third in the 1,500 and Brynn Malo third in the 800.

The Wildcats were also second in the shuttle hurdle and 4×800, with the 4×400 and distance medley both placing third.

Natalie Johnson won both the 60 and the 200 for the Bulldogs, as Jada Roberts placed first in the high jump. Macy Knapp was second in the 800 and Sienna Fehr third in the 60 hurdles.

Pocahontas Area’s Halee Hauswirth was third in the shot put, Ava Moline was fifth in the shot put and Maddie Wittrock fifth in the 1,500 for the Cougars, the Jaguars won the 4×200, and Cate Birkey (60) and Haley Nemmers (shot put) had fourth place medals for the Golden Bears.

Southeast Valley’s winning relay consisted of Avrie Hanson, Mae Searcy, Devynn Wilson and Sage Lane.
