MELBOUNRE, Fla. — The Iowa Central softball team picked up two more wins during a spring break trip to Florida on Wednesday from the USSSA Space Coast Stadium.

After shutting St. Cloud State out in the opener, 8-0 in five innings, the Tritons dominated Macomb in five, 16-8.

Former St. Edmond all-stater Lauren Gibb hit a home run, as did Natalie Rasmussen. Cadence Touney, a Fort Dodge Senior High grad, recorded a triple, with Rasmussen and Kyra Kain each doing the same.

Gibb had a bases-clearing double to end the opener in the fifth, as the Tritons pounded out 17 hits in the game vs. Macomb

Josephine Moore, Jersey Hawf and Ella Shantz all had a double with Jaidan Abel recording nine strikeouts inside the circle for Iowa Central (11-3 overall).

The Tritons have four more games left on their trip, taking on Williston State and Macomb again on Thursday before finishing things off vs. Bryant and Stratton and Lake Michigan Friday.
