Tritons push softball win streak to 20

ESTHERVILLE — The win streak for the No. 21 Iowa Central softball team reached 20 here on Wednesday with a sweep of Iowa Lakes.

Scores were 4-1 and 7-4.

The Tritons (23-3 overall, 8-0 in the ICCAC) have not lost this month — a run that dates back to a 2-0 road defeat at 25th-ranked Kansas City-Kansas.

Natalie Rasmussen paced the offense in the opener with a two-run homer in the third and a solo shot in the seventh. Kyra Kain added a solo home run in the fourth.

Jillian French allowed just four hits and struck out seven, as the lone run scored in the opener was unearned.

The homers continued in the nightcap, as Josephine Moore went deep in the fourth to break a scoreless tie while Jersey Hawf connected on a three-run shot to erase a 2-1 deficit in the fifth.

Kain would hit her second home run of the day in the seventh.

Rasmussen finished the day with three hits, three RBI, three runs scored and two steals while Hawf collected three hits, drove in three, scored twice and stole a base in the two games.

Iowa Central hosts Hawkeye on Saturday at Rogers Park, followed by a twinbill with No. 9 DMACC on Sunday.

Starting at $4.94/week.
