Photo by Tonya Harrison, The Gowrie News: Southeast Valley senior Cornell Lowery was named a first team all-Twin Lakes Conference selection for 2025-26.

Cornell Lowery put together a senior season to remember, helping the Southeast Valley boys to a perfect 11-0 Twin Lakes Conference run and regular season championship.

Lowery was named to the all-TLC first team, and Jaguar leader Kyle Johnson was tabbed the coach of the year in the conference. Southeast Valley also landed Casey Hanson and Bryce Harrison on the second squad, while Jaguar Logan Jaeschke made the third.

Joining Lowery on the first team were area players Karson Welander from Pocahontas Area, Charlie Nattress of South Central Calhoun, Coy Moline from Manson Northwest Webster, and Jacksyn Hogrefe of Newell-Fonda. Jack Christian and Owen Mills of Sioux Central and Teagan Hanson of GTRA finished the top group.

Lowery went from not scoring a point as a junior — and only appearing in a single varsity game — to leading Southeast Valley at 13.5 points per game on 56 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from the 3-point line. He also averaged over seven rebounds, three steals and three assists.

Hanson, Harrison and Jaeschke are all juniors for the Jaguars who will be counted on next year. Harrison averaged 11.5 points per game, Hanson added nine, and Jaeschke, 8.5.

Hogrefe, a senior, was the leading scorer in the TLC, averaging 22 points in conference games. He was also tops in steals. Hanson shared the lead in assists per contest and was tied for second in steals per game with Harrison and Jaeschke.

The second squad included Christian Valenzuela from Pocahontas Area, Evan Myers of South Central Calhoun, Charlie Sturgis of Manson Northwest Webster, Cooper Chizek of Emmetsburg, Abner Zaugg from West Bend-Mallard and Koen Glover of Sioux Central.

Third teamers were Garrett Krause of South Central Calhoun, Gunnar Baron of Newell-Fonda, Matthew Malm of Emmetsburg, Zach Jacobsen of East Sac County, Kacen Flynn of West Bend-Mallard, Colin Christians of Sioux Central and Lucas Girres of GTRA.
