Dodgers, area teams in action at Algona indoor
ALGONA — The Fort Dodge girls track team got one final indoor event before the regular outdoor season begins.
It was the first meet in the new Algona Fieldhouse on Monday.
“Algona has a terrific new facility,” said FDSH head coach Todd Constable. “I talked to Andy Jacobson about it and they let us into (the field).
“It’s good for us to get another meet under our belts.”
Senior Maeleena Meyer was the champion in the 60 meter hurdles. Fort Dodge also won the shuttle hurdle relay, with Charlotte DeJong, Adyson Friesth, Ava Osorio and Meyer.
The 4×60 relay quartet of Malay Hollins, Meyer, Aneliese Schuur and Hope Alstott took second. Junior Maddie Hoshaw placed second in the 400, and Friesth was third in the 60 hurdles.
