Iowa Central women claim road victory
COLUMBUS, Neb. — The Iowa Central women picked up a second straight win, besting Central here Wednesday night, 74-61.
The Tritons (21-7 overall, 14-6 in the ICCAC) were strong from the 3-point line, knocking down 11, as four players reached double figures.
Amelia Echternkamp led the way with 18 points, as Shakani Murray and Trista Ohlmeier each scored 12. Izzy Bassett added 11 with nine rebounds.
Murray and Ohlmeier each had six rebounds, with Ashlin Jacobsen adding eight points and MacKenna Bush six points with seven rebounds.
“We got out in transition in the second half,” ICCC head coach Graham McFall said. “Our ball movement was good and we got a lot of inside-outside action.”
For Central, Lexi Fiscus scored a game-high 24 points.
Iowa Central returns home to host Iowa Lakes on Saturday inside Hodges Fieldhouse at 1 p.m.
