Dodger bowlers win at Roosevelt

DES MOINES — The Fort Dodge boys bowling team picked up a 2,434-2,319 victory over Des Moines Roosevelt here on Tuesday.

Kody VanValkenburg led the way for the Dodgers with a 397 series. Slade Babb added a 382 and Lium Powers surpassed 300 with a 317.

VanValkenburg had games of 151 and 246, Babb went 212 and 170, and Powers had 161 and 156.

Blake Seeman added a 295 series. Orrin Rurup finished with a 282 and Leland Sassman had a 251 for Fort Dodge.

“It was nice to wrap up our dual portion of the season with a win against Roosevelt,” FDSH boys head coach Julie Ulrich said. “We didn’t shoot the best team total but Kody and Slade stepped up in singles and gave us a solid lead heading into bakers.

“We struggled converting spares in bakers but the strikes the boys threw were enough to get the job done.”

The Dodgers are set to compete at the IAC Tournament on Monday at 10 a.m. in Waterloo.

Starting at $4.94/week.
