TOPEKA, Kan. — Izaih Clark couldn’t have asked for a better birthday weekend.

The Fort Dodge Senior High graduate celebrated his 25th birthday with a GT Arenacross title.

Clark has won a number of races, but never a series crown. With his family by his side, it meant even more.

“It was super cool to win the series,” Clark said. “Just awesome to win with a bunch of family there.”

Clark entered the event with the points advantage.

“There is a little pressure for sure (trying to protect the lead),” said the 2019 FDSH graduate. “But I went out there like there wasn’t any. I just wanted to win.”

Clark took both mottos on Friday and Saturday night on his Storm Lake Honda, and clinched the points title Friday.

The birthday celebration ensued on Saturday.

“Yeah, it definitely changed heading into Saturday with the points title,” Clark said. “I wasn’t necessarily going out to prove I was the champion. I just wanted to find a way to come out on top.”

This is the third year Clark has raced in the GT Arenacross Series. He placed third in his first year.

Winning adds momentum to the campaign, and Clark loves the direction he and his team is headed.

“(Earning a title) definitely helps for sure,” Clark said. “I still think there is a lot of progress to be made, but it’s good to have momentum.

“The team sees it and it takes a lot of work to get where we want to go.”

Supercross is up next for Clark.

“Now we are starting Supercross on the East coast,” Clark said. “We’ll be riding in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross championship.

“There are nine rounds total, and that will end some time in April.”

Capturing his first series gold was important to Clark, but it meant even more to celebrate with his support system in attendance.

“I want to give a big shout-out to my family for helping me out,” Clark said. “I couldn’t do it without them.”

Starting at $4.94/week.
