Dodger Stadium in Fort Dodge had its lights shining brightly on McNeil Field on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. in tribute to the Iowa Lakes baseball program. The Pocahontas Area Indian baseball program (sixth photo, taken by Jessica Bunda) did the same, with the initials “CJ” and Johnson’s #8 were carved out in the dirt, along with “Lakerstrong.”

A tragic bus accident on Wednesday in Calhoun County claimed the life of Johnson, a 19-year-old student athlete at Iowa Lakes. Thirty-two others were injured in the crash.
