Three-game week again for Gael basketball squads

As the year inches closer to the postseason, basketball squads have packed schedules preparing for the final run.

Both Gael teams have another three-game week, beginning on the road at Algona on Tuesday and at West Bend-Mallard on Thursday. St. Edmond then returns home to square off with Hampton-Dumont on Friday.

All varsity doubleheaders begin at 6 p.m.

St. Edmond senior Hunter Horn will look to continue to climb the all-time scoring charts, as the Gael boys (12-2 overall) begin the week at Algona (8-4).

Horn enters the game with 1,502 points in 65 games, averaging 23.1 for his career. He is now just 37 points behind leader Andrew Gibb (2015-18), who had 1,539 points in 76 games (20.3).

Horn is averaging 26.7 this season and 9.4 rebounds per contest as well.

Classmate Carson Bargfrede is scoring 13.5 per night. Jakob Koopman (9.4) and Grant Galles (7.3) are next in line.
