Dodgers host Garst Invite
The Fort Dodge swim team will host the annual Rusty Garst Invitational here Saturday.
Action begins at 10 a.m.
Joining the Dodgers will be Bishop Garrigan, Atlantic, Carroll, Decorah, Sioux City West, Spencer and Waterloo West.
Senior Aiden Seagren has the fastest times for Fort Dodge in four events and sophomore David Nelson has posted the quickest in three. Junior Brek Pingel has the best 200 freestyle time.
Seagren paces the squad in the 500 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley while Nelson leads the Dodgers in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Carroll’s Teagan Renze has the best times among teams in attendance at the Rusty Garst in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly, as teammate Leegan Sease has the quickest 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley times.
Sioux City West’s Carson Hoak is seeded first in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke while Spencer’s Oliver Miller is tops in the 500 freestyle.
Renze is first in the state in both the 50 free and 100 free while Hoak leads the state in the 200 free and 100 back.
For relays, Sioux City West leads in the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle, with Carroll sitting first in the 200 medley.
Nelson, Trevor Roberts, Jayden Stanley and Seagren have the best relay times this year for Fort Dodge.
The Rusty Garst Invitational was cancelled last year due to inclement weather.
