Dodger girls lose on the road

WATERLOO — The Fort Dodge girls concluded a lengthy road trip with a 53-33 loss to Waterloo East here Tuesday night.

Sophomore Grace Nichols and freshman Brooklyn Gilliland led Fort Dodge with eight points each. LJ Maehl added seven points, 21 rebounds and six assists.

“LJ didn’t shoot the ball great and really couldn’t get a call inside,” FDSH head coach Scott Messerly said. “Grace had some nice finishes inside.

“We had nine turnovers in the second half, which wasn’t bad compared to the first. East made some big shots in the fourth.
