Tritons face Kirkwood in home showdown

Long-time conference rivals Iowa Central and Kirkwood square off in an early showdown at Hodges Fieldhouse on Wednesday.

The fourth-ranked and undefeated Triton men (11-0 overall, 3-0 in the ICCAC) take on the No. 8 Eagles (8-3, 1-2) at 7:30 p.m. That Top-10 clash will follow the No. 2 Kirkwood women (7-0, 3-0) meeting Iowa Central (7-2, 2-1) at 5:30 p.m.

Seven different Triton men average in double figures for one of the country’s most prolific offenses. Head coach Mason Denholm’s squad is currently scoring at 100.1 point per game clip.

Jordan Cain (16.8), CJ Mitchell (15.3), Aleix Sempere (14.5) Tashun Pender (14.2), Jalen Wynter (12.3), Dorian Pruitt (10.4) and Manny Lueth (10.3) lead the balanced Iowa Central attack. Sempere is also pulling down 10.6 rebounds, with Pender at 9.1.

The Eagle men have five different players averaging in double figures themselves, paced by Ben Bockman (12.4) and Tyler Netolicky (12.3).

Trista Ohlmeier (12.9) and Ashlin Jacobsen (10.7) have powered the Iowa Central women to date. Ohlmeier is also pulling down 11.9 rebounds per contest.

Olivia Wren (14.6) and Aaliyah Riley (11.4) are the catalysts for the Eagle women.

On Saturday, the Tritons head to Southeastern.
