Fort Dodge girls can’t stop Spencer
SPENCER — The Fort Dodge girls dropped a 55-19 decision to Spencer here Friday night.
Senior LJ Maehl had 11 points and nine rebounds, sophomore Malay Hollins scored six and freshman Brooklyn Gilliland added two for the Dodgers (1-3 overall).
“Spencer is a good basketball team that brought a lot of pressure,” FDSH head coach Scott Messerly said. “The girls worked hard, but we just couldn’t find a combination that worked.
“We will be better on Monday.”
The Tigers (3-1), who raced out to a 13-0 lead and held a 24-5 advantage at the break, were led by Kennedy Graettinger’s 19 points. Spencer has also defeated MOC-Floyd Valley and Hull Western Christian.
Fort Dodge hosts Humboldt on Monday at 6:15 p.m.
