Another three-game week ahead for Dodgers

For the second consecutive week, the Fort Dodge basketball squads will be plenty busy beginning with consecutive contests right off the bat.

The Dodgers welcome Humboldt to the FDSH gym on Monday, followed by a road trip to Des Moines Lincoln on Tuesday. Both teams then conclude the week back at home against IAC North rival Waterloo East.

Tip times are set for 6:15 p.m. all three nights in the varsity girls tilts, with the boys to follow.

The Fort Dodge girls fell at Boone and Spencer last Friday night, slipping to 1-3 on the young season. The Humboldt girls have split their first two contests, routing Manson Northwest Webster and falling to Webster City. Junior Jada VandeWalle and senior Ava Fischer have led the way offensively.

The Lincoln girls are 0-3, with setbacks to Cedar Rapids Jefferson, Bondurant-Farrar and Marshalltown. Sophomore Jumi Kayode and senior Leiah Ochoa are the top scoring options to date for the Railsplitters.

The East girls have started 1-3. Senior Kaelin Knipp, junior Ka’Jhira Moon, junior Alayna Henderson and senior Graysyn Downing bring experience and balance to the table for the Trojans.

The Dodger boys (1-2) took down Spencer last Friday for their first win behind senior Hayden Zuspann’s 20 points. FDSH will likely be without injured standout sophomore Reggie Pederson (ankle) for at least a week.

The Humboldt boys doubled up Manson Northwest Webster, 64-32, in their only game thus far. Twin seniors Jackson and Chase Flaherty paced the Wildcats.

The Lincoln boys have lost to Marshalltown and West Des Moines Dowling. Junior Adom Kwake and senior Manas Gai have been the Rails’ leading scorers.

The East boys have dropped consecutive decisions to Cedar Falls, Des Moines Roosevelt and Waterloo West. Davieon VanArsdale and Jeremy Waters-Wright are powering the Trojans thus far.

Starting at $4.94/week.
