Area players dominate 3A-1 all-district teams
Humboldt, Webster City and Algona loaded up the all-district honors in Class 3A, District 1 for this football season.
The Wildcats placed eight on the first team, while the Lynx and Bulldogs had six each.
Leading the way for Humboldt was co-offensive lineman of the year Jack Guy, who shared the honor with Webster City’s Cole Nohrenberg.
Other first team selections for the Wildcats included Cash McIntire, Chase Flaherty, Kamdyn Haggard, Valley Davis, Broedy Hendricks, Cael Donahe and Karson Rubel.
Second team picks from Humboldt were Jaxson Kirchhoff, Spencer Burtch, Jackson Flaherty, Braiden Swansen, Griffen Groat, Zane McIntire and Nash Palmer.
Karter Simmonsen and Jacob Girres made honorable mention.
Chase Flaherty led in district-only games for receiving touchdowns, and Donahe in tackles.
For the Lynx, Nohrenberg, Jaxon Griffith, Eli Estlund, Aiden Hrnicek, Grant Arends and Israel Torres were named first team. Torres earned specialist MVP honors.
Kaleb Hansen, Nate Beaulieu, Dawson Bertran and Carter Mickelson made the second squad for Webster City. Beau Nohrenberg and Cael Alexander were honorable mentions.
Hrnicek tied for the district lead in rushing touchdowns with University of Iowa commit Kasen Thomas. Griffith had the most all-purpose yards.
Nathan Manske, Tate Garman, Evan Allie, Max Nevitt, Tate Carter and Will Limbaugh were first-team picks from Algona, with William Weichert, Micah Kitzinger, Mason Ulrich, Tayten Rummel, Cael Rotert and Brody Shipler making the second squad.
Taevyn Zinnel, Caden Kuecker and Owen Moe were honorable mention for the Bulldogs.
Manske led the district in total touchdowns and passing yards, tying for tied for first in passing TDs.
Garman was tops in receiving yards.
