The Twin Lakes Conference will be hosting free officiating clinics on Oct. 31 and Nov. 7 for prospective referees and umpires.

This week’s clinic will be Friday at Emmetsburg High School from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Nov. 7 event is at the Sac Community Center in Sac City with the same times.

The clinics will be designed to show interested parties how to become certified as an official, how to get hired to officiate games, and the officiating basics. There is no cost for participants, and lunch will be provided.

The general public is welcome to attend, with an emphasis on high school juniors and seniors and college-aged adults from the area.

The clinics are designed to help address the officiating shortage in all sports.
