No. 7 Tritons cap unbeaten ICCAC run

SIOUX CITY — The seventh-ranked Iowa Central volleyball team put a perfect cap on an undefeated ICCAC run for 2025, defeating Western Iowa Tech on Wednesday night.

Scores were 25-20, 25-19 and 25-19.

Last week, the Tritons (28-7 overall, 12-0 in the league) clinched the conference title and top-seed for the upcoming regional tournament with a five-set win over then-No. 1 and current second-ranked Kirkwood inside Hodges Fieldhouse. They have won at least a share of seven ICCAC titles in the last eight years.

The win over Western Iowa Tech marked the eighth straight for Iowa Central and gave them the first undefeated league slate since 2022 when they played seventh at nationals.

Talya Sampson had 15 kills and eight digs, Shirley Monaghan and Dena Robb each had seven kills, and Addi Hindt recorded four kills with five block assists. Meah McCaleb added 10 digs and Anabel Seaman had 28 assists with an ace.

Ava Paige recorded three serving aces and both Robb and Cooper Griffin had five block assists.

Iowa Central will host a regional semifinal on Saturday inside Hodges Fieldhouse at 1 p.m. against Central. Northeast plays Southeastern in the other semis, with the finals being held Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the higher seed.
