Garrigan claims district crown
NORTHWOOD — The streak continues to grow.
The top-ranked Bishop Garrigan (7-0 overall, 5-0 8-player-1) football team won their 22nd consecutive regular season game.
Garrigan clinched its third straight district championship with a 61-13 win over Northwood-Kensett (4-3, 1-3), 61-13.
CJ McGregor and Ethan Marso had big nights on the ground as they went for 87 and 88 yards respectively with two touchdowns each.
McGregor had scoring runs of 13 and 55 yards. Marso reached the end zone form 10 and 32 yards.
Quarterback Tate Foertsch threw two touchdowns and scored on the ground. Foertsch scored on a 20-yard run and connected with Weston Rosemeyer (27) amd Michael Joyce (35).
Carter McGregor scored on a four-yard run. Joyce returned a kickoff 79 yards for a touchdown.
Behind center, Foertsch was 4-for-4 for 87 yards. Rosenmeyer caught two balls for 49 and Joyce had two grabs for 38 yards.
Foertsch, Rosenmeyer and Karson Kramer had interceptions.
Marso led the defense with six tackles, while Karson Sidles had five.
