Bears’ streak goes to 21
ARMSTRONG — The streak continues to rise for defending eight-player champion Bishop Garrigan.
The Golden Bears (6-0 overall, 2-0 District 2) won their 21st consecutive regular season game with a 54-7 rout of North Union (3-3, 2-2) on Friday night.
Tate Foertsch had another outstanding effort for the Golden Bears, accounting for six touchdowns. He was 10-for-14 passing for 222 yards and four touchdown strikes.
Foertsch hit Weston Rosemeyer with scoring strikes of 46 and 23 yards. He also connected with Dalton Klenz (39 yards), Michael Joyce (nine).
Foertsch carried the ball 11 times for 68 yards and two trips to the end zone.
Ethan Marso was the ground leader with 15 carries for 106 yards and TD runs of 22 and two yards.
Rosenmeyer caught four balls for 131 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, Foertsch and Marso had five tackles each. Matt Besch had four, while Carter Schwab had three. Besch and Joyce recovered fumbles.
Kicker Gage Meyer was 4-for-6 on PATs.
