Garrigan strolls to victory
ALGONA — Bishop Garrigan didn’t want to take a week off.
In fact, the top-ranked Golden Bears (6-0 overall, 3-0 district) had an open spot after a forfeit was left on their schedule and actually picked up two victories on Friday night.
The Golden Bears beat Turkey Valley (3-2) by a final of 51-0.
Quarterback Tate Foertsch accounted for four touchdowns. Foertsch was 11-for-15 passing for 211 yards and three touchdown passes. He had seven carries for 123 yards.
Foertsch connected with Hayden Miller for a 62-yard score, Kyle Bormann (11) and Michael Joyce (32). He also scored on a 60-yard touchdown jaunt.
Ethan Marso had eight carries for 71 yards and two trips to the end zone. Marso had a four-yard and 17-yard touchdown.
Joyce returned an interception 25 yards for a score.
Carter Schwab had seven tackles. Marso had four tackles, while Karson Kramer and CJ McGregor had three each.
