CHARLES CITY — The St. Edmond girls tennis team capped off a second consecutive undefeated regular season with an 8-1 win over Charles City here Monday night.

Ava Underberg, Chloe Palmer, Abby Huss and Olivia Andrew scored wins in singles, as Underberg, Palmer and Huss all won by scores of 8-0 while Andrew earned an 8-1 victory.

Underberg and Palmer, along with Andrew and Sophia Schlienz, picked up doubles victories. Underberg and Palmer won, 8-2, while Andrew and Schlienz claimed an 8-0 set victory.

The Comets were missing a player, giving St. Edmond two forfeits, with one in singles and one in doubles.

“It was great to get back on the court after not playing for a couple of weeks,” SEHS head coach Shawn Neverman said. “It was a good way to get us ready for Wednesday when we try to win another North Central Conference Tournament title.”

The Gaels head to Webster City for NCC action in singles and doubles beginning Wednesday morning.
