The Fort Dodge boys golf team hosted the 15-team Joselyn Invitational at the Country Club on Tuesday.
The Dodgers shot their second-best score in the last 13 years, completing the course with a 329.
“We just want to keep trying to improve and play better,” said FDSH head coach Nick Vinson. “We want to be consistently competitive.
“Our goal is to continue to get our numbers to improve, in hopes that will make us more competitive.”
Waukee Northwest shot a 292 to win the championship. Dallas Center-Grimes (294) was the runner-up, followed by Ankeny Centennial (301).
Indianola’s Jackson Buchanan was the meet medalist, carding a two-under par 69.
Davis Underberg had the top score for the Dodgers, shooting a 77. Trace Rial had an 82, followed by Mason Frevert (83).
Gavin Davis (87), Jaxson Dencklau (94) and Camden Sassman (102) rounded out the FDSH scorecard.
“Davis had another good round,” Vinson said. “Trace had one of his better scores. Mason is right there.”
