Algona loses to Carroll Kuemper
ALGONA — The Algona football team put together a strong first half of play here Friday night vs. Carroll Kuemper.
Over the final 24 minutes, though, the Knights took control, picking up a 52-21 victory vs. the Bulldogs.
Nathan Manske had a pair of touchdown passes, hitting Tate Garman on a 66-yarder and Micah Kitzinger from 23 yards out to give Algona an early lead. Garman darted 92 yards on a kickoff return for a score to make it 20-14 in the second quarter.
It was all Kuemper after that, as the Knights racked up 325 yards of total offense, including 201 in the air.
Manske finished 6 of 12 passing for 132 yards with the two TD passes, William Weichert ran for 52 yards and Garman finished with four receptions for 87.
