18th-rated Triton women pitch 3-0 shutout vs. WIT
The No. 18 Iowa Central women’s soccer team secured a sixth clean sheet victory, blanking Western Iowa Tech here on Saturday by a 3-0 final.
Karma McMorris tallied two goals and Sydney Hagen added one to lead the way for the Tritons (6-2 overall, 2-1 in the ICCAC), who have won two straight on their home field on the campus of Iowa Central.
“I feel like this was the first time this season we’ve fully played to our potential,” ICCC head coach Jordan Sibenaller said. “We got on the board early and kept the pressure up all game.”
Mckenna Hilton had two assists and Alyssa Tucker contributed one.
McMorris, a freshman from West Fork, has eight goals on the year, including two game-winners. She has tallied 17 total points for Iowa Central.
Earlier this week, the Tritons made their home debut with a 1-0 win over No. 16 Hawkeye, snapping a two-match losing skid that came at the hands of ranked opponents in Heartland and Northeast.
Up next for Iowa Central will be a date with North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City on Saturday. They play at home on Saturday, Oct. 11, vs. Northwest Iowa.
