Triton football team will start the season ranked 15th
The Iowa Central football team will begin the 2025 ranked in the initial NJCAA Top-15.
The Tritons, who went 6-6 last season and won the Game One Bowl over North Dakota State College of Science, are No. 15 overall.
Hutchinson holds the preseason top spot followed by ICCAC rival Iowa Western. Northwest Mississippi, Navarro and Georgia Military round out the Top-5.
Snow is No. 6 followed by Garden City, Copiah-Lincoln, Tyler, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Kilgore, Lackawanna, Butler and Trinity Valley. Others receiving votes included Coffeyville, East Mississippi, East Central, Dodge City, Holmes, Cisco and Itawamba.
Iowa Central opens the year on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Dodger Stadium vs. Central Lakes-Brainerd at 2:30 p.m. The Raiders take on another ICCAC school, Ellsworth, this coming weekend.
Last year, Central Lakes-Brainerd went 1-5, playing five Minnesota schools and North Dakota State College of Science. They earned a 16-14 victory over Minnesota State Tech.
The schedule for ICCC head coach Jesse Montalto picks up following the opener, as they head to Highland on Saturday, Sept. 13 after a bye week before welcoming in Hutchinson the following Saturday.
Iowa Central concludes the month at Iowa Western followed by Dodge City inside Dodger Stadium. They play three straight on the road in October with games at defending NJCAA Div. II champion College of DuPage, Coffeyville and Ellsworth.
The November slate sees Independence and Butler visit Dodger Stadium around a road trip to Garden City.
